All State Workshops

Conroe ISD will be having a FREE All State Choir Workshop on Tuesday, August 3rd from 9am – 11am. This will be held at Oak Ridge HS 9th Grade Campus.

If you want to attend, please use the link below and register. If you need music, Mr. Smith and Mrs. Robilotto will have packets of music for you at the camp. Show up a little before 9 and find us to get your packet. Bring pencils and water so you can mark your music and stay hydrated. ****Mr. Smith will not be handing out packets on Wed 7/28 from 10-12 like originally posted on Monday****

Tomball ISD will be hosting a workshop on Saturday, August 7 from 1-5pm. The cost is $22.50 to attend. If you are unable to attend the August 3rd camp, this will be a great time to get you going before the school year starts on the 11th. You will need music to attend, so be sure to get a packet if you don’t have one yet. Contact Mr. Smith or Mrs. Robilotto to get music if you are not attending the August 3rd camp.

Choir Officers 2021 – 2022

Thank you to all who ran for a spot to be a choir officer for next school year. You are all excellent candidates and our program is going to be in good hands. (The posters were awesome!!) We are excited to get back to a more normal atmosphere for 2021-2022.

We will have an officer meeting soon and will also need your help moving everything out of the room as the school replaces the flooring.

GO Flags Memorial Day Sign Up

GO Flags is back again for our 4th flag placement of the year. Memorial Day Weekend placement is 5/29 and pick up is 6/5. We need many volunteers to pull this off. Last time we had FOUR and that was not enough and not acceptable. For us to benefit from what GO Flags does we have to have volunteers or we will not be the recipients of any fundraising money. End of April Updates

Welcome to the last push of the school year! We have so much going on for choir and it is important to be informed of all the events happening the next few weeks. We sent out an updated choir calendar with all rehearsals and events to get us through the end of the school year. Make sure you have those dates in your calendars so you don’t miss anything. Many of these events are tied to your grade in choir!

UIL on April 14 and 16 was amazing! All five groups sang beautifully and represented GOHS so well. We received 4 Sweepstakes and 1 Superior Sight Reading from our choirs and we could not be more thrilled. Thank you to all of our students for doing your best and being the best! Congratulations to all!

We have started pop show choreography and have numerous days for after school rehearsals in preparation for the Pop Show concerts on May 6 & 7. See dates below:

The meeting for April is Monday, April 26 at 6:30 pm. The zoom link will be posted on the choir website and sent through e-mail Monday morning. Please be in attendance as we discuss needs for pop show and other end of year events.

Officer Applications:
Next year officer elections for the choir will be happening soon! Students wanting be an officer need to submit their application by Friday, April 30. The application to fill out can be found on the post below.

Officer Application 2021-2022

Students interested in running for an officer position need to click the link below to fill out the application. Applications can be submitted starting today and will close on Friday, April 30.

Students may create a poster or two to hang in the choir room once your application has been submitted. We will be voting in class the week of May 10. New officers will be announced at banquet May 22.

Pre-UIL Concerts

Pre-UIL will be Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30 at 7:00 pm. All students in choir will be singing as it is a major grade and required. We will be performing our UIL repertoire in preparation for UIL Concert and Sight Reading Assessments in April. Students were given a form to bring home and return if they wish to have attendees at their concert. The seating charts of forms returned can be found under the “DOCUMENTS” tab on the choir website. If you do not see your student’s name that means they did not return the form.

If your student was absent for the 2 weeks before spring break or recently joined us after spring break they most likely did not receive the form. Please reach out to us and we can see about adding you into the audience to hear them perform. If your student was present, they had two weeks to turn it in before we left for the break and knew that late forms would not be accepted.

Parents can begin COVID Check-In and line up for the concert at 6:20 the night they are assigned. Entry will be the main entrance at the BACK of the school from the courtyard area. (NOT THE AUDITORIUM DOORS) Attendees will be required to wear a mask or will be asked to leave the concert. Temperature checks will also be conducted upon arrival. Thank you for understanding! The concert will be audio recorded for those unable to attend and recordings will be posted at a later date.

GO Flags “President’s Day”

Let’s get ready for Presidents’ Day!!  We need your help to get our routes placed at your students’ supporters’ home on 2/13 and picked up on 2/20.  We will provide you with a route that is optimized to save you time.  All you need to do is read a map, drive a car and proudly place a flag in one of our flag sleeves.  Each car/team should contain 2 or 3 volunteers to help speed up the process.  To save time in the parking lot, we will have staggered pickup times starting at 8AM.  Signup is per vehicle, not person.  We will track who is with you to get credit for your volunteer points/hours and provide those to each director.

Ideally the route you take is the route you pickup.  We will be at the locker on 2/20 at 8AM to collect the flags.

CubeSmart is right behind Chick-Fil-A.  Unit 30 is all the way to the back and around the corner.
