The choirs are off to a fantastic start for the 19-20 school year. We are making sounds and preparing for our first concert in just a few short weeks.
This past Tuesday was the parent meeting and many of you showed up. Thank you for supporting your student and our choir. Whether you were at the meeting or not, all students should now have the choir handbook, choir year calendar, emergency form, acknowledgement form, and technology form. Please look over those items and return the EMERGENCY FORM (white) & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT/TECHNOLOGY FORM (red) completely filled out. Students will be unable to do anything off campus until the forms are turned in. Forms were due August 30th.
Inside of the handbook you will read information covering numerous topics. Please familiarize yourself, especially with policies regarding attendance and expectations. There is also a choir fee, so read up on that and make sure you pay it!
(STUDENTS WILL NOT RECEIVE A CHOIR SHIRT UNTIL A FORM OF PAYMENT IS MADE TOWARDS THE FEE)
District Music Clinic at TWHS: Saturday, September 7, 2019
TWHS Choir is hosting a clinic to go over the district audition music at Woodlands 9th grade campus. It is an all day event for $25. Please see the attached flyer and sign up if interested. ***FOR TMEA ALL STATE AUDITIONERS*** This is a wonderful camp for those still needing extra help or cleaning up the music.
TMEA Mock Auditions: Monday, September 9, 2019
Students participating in the district auditions on Sept. 14 are required to stay after on Monday to sing through cuts in the music in preparation for the auditions. We will begin at 2:45 and students will go one at a time. 37 students will be singing but they are able to leave once they complete their mock audition.
TMEA District Auditions: Saturday, September 14, 2019
Students participating in the district auditions will compete on Sat. Sept. 14 at Oak Ridge High School. Information will be out very soon with details of times, etc. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE EVENT since ORHS is so close to GOHS. Speak with Mr. Smith if you have a need!
Fall Concert: Thursday, September 26, 2019
Our first concert of the year is on September 26 at 7:00 pm in the GOHS Auditorium. Information about logistics, etc. will be sent home the week of September 9th. The info will be posted under the “documents” tab as well once it is given to the students. Please have the essential uniform items secured and ready for the concert. **If you are unaware of what your student needs, please read the choir handbook or talk with your student**

Booster Club Meeting is Monday, September 30 at 6:30 pm in the choir room (7006). All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.
