The 2018 – 2019 school year is complete and what a year it was! Thank you all for being a part of Grand Oaks and the choir program for our inaugural year. Thinking back to August and retracing the last 9+ months has been the best. You all have grown in many ways and it has been a pleasure being your choir director. Have a great summer!
1st Year Recap:
100+ students came through our program this year
The choirs sang the National Anthem at all pep rallies
The choirs premiered the School Song at the GOHS School Dedication
9 students auditioned for District and 3 moved onto Region
3 students auditioned for Region with 1 making it into the Mixed Choir (Go Ben!)
Ben Powell participated in the Region Mixed Choir
Sydney, Molly, Gabby, Isabella, Roan, Cameron, and Chase participated in Honor Choir
24 Students competed at Solo and Ensemble with 16 1st Division Ratings awarded
3 choirs attended UIL: 2 Sweepstakes awarded and Superior in Sight Reading awarded
14 solos and duets sang on pop show
The Spring Trip choir received Superior, Best in Class, and Best in Festival Awards
