Welcome to 2019 and Spring Semester! There are many events this semester for choir, so please look over the calendar and make sure you are aware of everything taking place. Updates for January and February are below.
January 10: University of North Texas performance
The UNT A Capella Choir will be singing at GOHS on Thursday morning.
All choir students are invited to attend. Come to the choir room at 7:20. The concert begins during 1st period and will end shortly after 2nd block begins. Students will be released to class after the concert. Parents may also attend. Concert begins at 8:15.
January 11: Forms due for S&E
Students participating in solo contest need to turn in conflict forms by this date. This is for scheduling purposes. Please don’t forget
January 24: MOD Pizza Spirit Day
Go to the new MOD Pizza by HEB Creekside and 20% of your bill will be donated to the choir program. Event is good for all business hours that day.

January 24: Lip Sync Contest Meeting
Students interested in participating in the lip sync contest need to attend the after school meeting in the choir room at 2:45 pm. The meeting will be over by 4 pm at the very latest.
January 25: Guys Night Out
Information will be discussed during Cantus this week
January 28: Academic Showcase
The choir will have a small set up for the Academic Showcase from 5-7 pm in the cafeteria. Come by and say hi!
January 28 – February 1: Accompanist Practice
Solo contest students will have their first practice with Mrs. McCarthy this week. Must have your song ready to sing (does not have to be memorized yet)
February 4 – February 8: Accompanist Practice
Solo contest students will have their 2nd practice with Mrs. McCarthy and you will need to be MEMORIZED this time around.
February 5: Spirit Day at Great American Cookie
February 8 & 9: Solo Contest at TWCP
Contest is Friday evening and Saturday morning. Times to come in late January.
February 26: 4th Grade Honor Choir Concert
Students from Cantus and Chorale will be singing on this concert. Information to come out in early February. You will perform the Star Spangled Banner and Why We Sing.
